What is Z-Wave? It's a wireless standard made to have products "speak" together in a common language. One of the great advantages of exactly Z-Wave is a very small power consumption, which makes it attractive to use in wireless devices running on batteries. Because different frequency bands are available around the world there's several types of Z-Wave, in Europe on 868.42MHz and in USA on 908.42MHz. HOMEe only sell products fit for the european market.

Where can I see Home Automation in action? Sadly we don't have a show-room or a demo house. Both instead we have lots of inspiration under our information section, where we try to portrait ideas on how to improve your everyday life with home automation. Besides that there are many thriving webpages and blogs dealing with the subject e.g Zwaves.dk and HOMEeblog.com where additional inspiration is plenty.
Which products do I need? That depends on the setup you want to end up with off course. But a great point of departure is a controller that handles all the intelligence, some devices that reports about the condition of your house and some products that performs actions based on those reports. A controlller can either be hardware or software based, which refers to whether it comes with it's own small PC or it has to be installed on a computer. The devices that reports the status of the house to the system i called sensors, and they measure everything from movement, temperature or smoke development. The products that perform are typically electrical plugins that switches power on or off but there's also thermostats and a lot more.
